Major “Other Addon” Update

With MoP only a day away, and no sign of the originals in 2 weeks since the buggy quick fix… I’ve gone ahead hard core on updates… Scenario tracking? you got it… Scenario maps? sure… Challenge mode timers? well.. in theory yes but with no challenge modes to test not 100%… Maps? yes we got maps.. and maps and maps.. pandaria done, BC dungeons / raids added… Group questing? Merry christmas cuz that’s fixed too. Black Map Bugged Zones has been updated to all reported ones.

Ty for making a much loved addon still function. I look forward to your personal addon so I can replace Carbonite with something that doesn’t need constant patching by third parties to keep it running, basically an addon that is still a loved project by its author. I was not able to donate much due to 3 kids demanding most of my funds but I hope it helps.

Is this the patch for the official release 5.0.5 or is it for the one on curse 4.3?

it works for either one since it replaces the 3 key files.

ok question. the one thing i like about carbonite is having the ability to have the normal round mini map in the top right corner then having carbonites square mini map just below it. so i am wondering if you have that feature in your addon. is yours very similar to how carbonite runs or is it different.

This is carbonite, in all it’s glory, just fixed and repaired and updated for MoP. My own addon is not yet available and just a work in progress but when I get to that stage yes it’ll have those options.

AFAIK it will be still a long time before RUMA is gonna come out So untill RUMA is ready for testing we wont know about its features
For now Rythal decided to keep patching “the other addon” untill he has RUMA in an alpha or beta stage is what Im guessing
I also think he will start out with maps to get that working, and start adding features requested after that
I surely hope that the patching of that other addon doesnt take too much time from him, so that there is almost no time left for RUMA

@jesskitsune replace the files in it with the files in your WOW addon carbonite folder (you must have the official fubar version installed ofc)

no idea what you mean by fubar do you mean the original carbonite addon?

yes, they mean the original addon either 5.041 or 4.031.

Is installation the same as it was – download the “full” version then apply your fix?

Thank you Rythal! You are a lifesaver. I’m really sorry that the original developers have run into real life issues, and we should all be understanding about that – they gave us a great capability for a lot of years.
