update to… the other addon

So, while people are crashing the servers like crazy right now (at least moonguard) thanks to some packet manipulation, I couldn’t do much on my own stuff…. so… I decided to update carbonite again, 5.04.08 contains the twilight highlands & starter area map fixes, it also has the big flashing an upgrade is available message turned off.

Is there really no other way a a sign-up download site ??

I really dislike those sites for the cookies and stuff, and the software likes to “spy” on your system and surf behaviour

There should be no software or required signups… I picked that one because it was just a simple 4 letter recaptcha then it downloads.

Rythal, this is an update to your previous update correct? Not the newest version that one author stuck out there? I never did download that version, so I just want to be sure.

Yes this is an update to Rythal’s last version, not the *other* one.

Rythal’s last before he pulled it was 5.0.4.007, this update is 5.0.4.008. The other is version 5.041.

yeah… 5.041 is going to self-destruct in 7 days when MoP hits, so i haven’t given up completely on my version yet.

Hope you’re prepared for the flood of traffic to get your version on the 25th. It’s a good sign RUMA will be welcomed with open arms to the majority of people.

Hi,

When I tried to download my virus scanner popped up saying that there were viruses in the file. Is there an alternative download link and file?

O.o viruses? what scanner are you using, my guess is they’ve flagged all file upload sites… but I really don’t have anywhere else to put it.

I can’t self-host it this time around because when MoP goes live there will be a rush to get it as the official version stops working (again).. I’d put it on this website, but it’s not my server so not my decision, double after they said quite plainly they don’t want anyone touching the code.

Vortex Pinnacle instance map is showing up as a bright green square on the full size map. Minimap is showing up fine. Stockades is fine, not sure about other instances though.

This is with 5.0.4.008.

LOL seems like alot of ppl are low on carb`s

And I think youre right not to host it here since when the sh*t is gonna hit the fan next week, so many ppl will want a working version, that your bandwith limit will reach its capacity fast

Tried to download 5.0.4.008 from file dropper, it shows the file size as being 0 kb, plus no button to click to start the download. Is it just me or am I misinterpret something.

Dude, you are my hero. I didn’t even install the insult LOL just kept running yours. I posted a suggestion to them/you on one of the threads, but like most I’m sure it wont go anywhere.

TBH, if they don’t have the time or money to work on ‘the other addon’ I doubt they will have time to try anything stupid anyways. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your addon, cuz honestly like most it’s the google maps I love. I do like the BG and punks option as well, but the rest I never use. Altoholic is a better Warehouse and blizz’s quest tracker is at least acceptable.

I will be watching the site and if you need some testing done, I dont have alot of time but I can definitley copy/paste LUA errors in my spare time.

Awesome, thank you Rythal. I started to unzip it into my addon folder and that little voice said “never assume”

I’m actually sticking with this version over here until I see you are working with Faatal and those guys.

For the person’s whose antivirus flagged the file, I downloaded it this morning and it passed a fully updated version Norton with no problem.
